Spotlight on...Peter Greenwood Memorial Trust Grant (PGMT)
The PGMT offers small cash grants to deaf and hearing impaired students who are in Secondary, Higher or Further Education (or training) in England or Wales.  The charity is also able to provide grants to groups or organisations which provide such courses or activities.  Normally, a grant would be used to buy books and equipment needed for a person’s studies or training.  Sometimes a grant may be offered to help with travel or accommodation expenses related to a person’s studies or training. Stepping Stones - Short Term Accommodation For Females (Service Personnel & Spouses)

SSAFAs Stepping Stone Homes based in both the North East and the South of England provide short-term supported accommodation, help and advice to female service or ex-serving personnel, the female spouses or partners of serving or ex-serving personnel, and their dependent children.

Support is also provided to women without children or whose children may be living elsewhere temporarily, those seeking accommodation due to welfare needs, and Foreign & Commonwealth cases. The above list is not exhaustive. Each case will be considered individually.

A fun and relaxed music and Makaton group for children and young people with special needs and their families/ carers. This friendly group uses Makaton to support their singing, at a pace that everyone can keep up with and enjoy. Siblings are also welcome at these sessions. Free accessible parking. Families Continuous Attitude Survey (FAMCAS)

The 2017 Families Continuous Attitude Survey (FAMCAS) provides the opportunity for Army spouses/civil partners to express their views about a range of issues that affect their life as a Service family. The evidence provided by these views is a vital source of information that assists the Army in developing future personnel policy.

To support this process, it is important that the collective views of spouses/civil partners of Officers and Soldiers alike are communicated to the wider Army.

SFA - Licence to Occupy Insurance

If you occupy Service Family Accommodation be it SFA or SSFA you will have signed an agreement when you moved into the property called a Service Licence to Occupy Service Family Accommodation (known as a Licence to Occupy). Due to this, you are not classed as a tenant. The Services Insurance and Investment Panel (siiap) have a web page that details a number of insurance providers who can organise policies that have been designed specifically for SFA Occupants.

Break Centres

The Legion offers much-needed breaks to ex-Service and serving personnel and their families. If you or a member of your family is recovering from an illness, bereavement or other life-affecting event, the Legion can provide a comfortable and enjoyable break.

About our break centres

We have four Break Centres located in prime locations around the country, and for our family breaks, we also have close ties with Parkdean and Haven Holiday Parks.
The Legion also provides Adventure Breaks, where young people of Service families can have a fun and activity-packed week.

The Services Cotswold Centre

The Services Cotswold Centre (SCC) is a tri-service facility managed by Headquarters Army Welfare Service (AWS) and funded by Headquarters Support Commands (HQ Sp Comd) on behalf of the MOD. It provides short term transit accommodation for service personnel, their spouses, civil partners and families.
The SCC accommodation comprises of 60 self contained chalet style homes and is located near Corsham, Wiltshire in the United Kingdom.
