FISH update
Do you have a child (0 – 25 years) who has a Special Educational Needs and Disability? Do you live in the East Riding and registered for LOOK AHEAD services?
Then you may wish to apply for the following discount cards:

Passport to Leisure cards - entitles parent carers registered on LOOK AHEAD (and anyone living in the household who is over 18 years old) to a 50% discount off many standard priced leisure activities at any East Riding Leisure & Sport Centre (e.g. swimming, gym sessions and exercise classes - Please note this benefit excludes discount from East Riding Leisure & Sport Centres membership).

·        the names of your children registered on LOOK AHEAD

Shop and Save card - a discount card that can be used to access a range of discounts and benefits in various locations to show you are a parent carer who has a child/young person who is registered on LOOK AHEAD (only one per household). Local offer update
The Local Offer website will be undergoing a review of information held on it over the summer. SENDIASS will be contacting services and organisations to ask them to check their information on the website and confirm it is still correct or email any changes they would like to make.

East Riding Voices in Partnership (ERVIP)
We are currently planning our Annual General Meeting which will be held on Monday 16 October 2017 at East Riding Leisure, Beverley.  Kevin Hall – Director of Public Services and Schools will be our guest speaker at this meeting.   At our AGM we will be electing new members to join our Management  Committee.

Being a Committee Member - Being involved does not have to be time consuming. Any help you can give will be welcome however big or small. We are looking for new ideas as we grow over the next year.  Committee meetings take place during the day on a monthly basis in Beverley

- If you don’t think you can commit the time/travelling to being a committee member, why not consider becoming an Ambassador for ERVIP and supporting your committee rep in your local area.

Kids Go Wild: Butterfly and Bumble Bee Safari 1 – How many different butterflies and bumble bees can you spot on our safari? Enjoy making some colourful butterflies to take home.

SEND Cooking Session for parents and carers to bring their children and young people (0-25 years) along to. Come along to the session to enjoy making some simple, exciting food, experiencing new textures and tastes with an opportunity to meet other children, parents and carers.  Booking is recommended as places will be limited and any allergies or dietary requirements will need to be noted/discussed prior to the session.

CDSG – Children's disabilities support group – The group is run by parents with children with and without a diagnosis, and can provide invaluable information, support and advice to parents who have children with special/additional needs.

'All Ride'
Adapted cycling scheme for disabled people aged between 5 and 18 years. Come and cycle along the North Promenade. You may have to wait for some bikes to become available.

Haltemprice
Talking Teens - This friendly, informal and fun course lasts for five weeks and is a chance for everyone to improve family relationships and reduce conflict. Chapter 1 – What is it like to be the parent of a teenager? Chapter 2 – What could help me understand my teenager? Chapter 3 – How do I communicate with my teenager? – An opportunity for young people with disabilities to take part in a fun sailing session and water based fun. Suitable for people aged 7 – 18 years who are able to swim 25 metres and must be confident in the water.

2018 Positive Activity Grant – East Riding Voluntary Action Service (ERVAS) update - East Riding Voluntary Action Services is pleased to announce that it is continuing its work with East Riding of Yorkshire Council to support those voluntary and community groups applying for the Positive Activity Grant (PAG), helping them to develop and maintain robust safeguarding children policies and procedures.  It is a requirement of the Positive Activity Grant application process that all applicants are accredited with the ERVAS Fit For Purpose scheme and in regard to the next round of Positive Activities Grants for 2018/19, all applicants must have completed their accreditation by 31st October 2017 in order to be eligible to apply.  All future recipients of a Positive Activity Grant award must also ensure that any existing accreditation is still valid on 31st March 2018.
