Half Term Stretching Sessions - Half Term Stretching Sessions, specifically for full-time wheelchair users or anyone with a significant physical disability.  This 20-minute session offers the child/young person a stretch. Especially beneficial for those among us who spend a lot of time in a wheelchair or special buggy, this can be one of the most relieving feelings of the day. By stretching the muscles we are also assisting the school physiotherapists by making the arms and legs more viable for when they return to their school or college. The stretching session can also help alleviate any cramp or pain the child may be feeling, especially in their legs.  All sessions are organised and subsidised by Special Stars Foundation with certified physiotherapist Kevin Allen, of East Riding Physiotherapy (more info about the physiotherapist here: http://www.eastridingphysiotherapy.co.uk/)  The building is fully wheelchair accessible and there is a small private car park and street parking nearby which is free for blue badge holders. We also have a mobile hoist and electric height adjustable physiotherapy bed.

We have arranged for local professional photographer Vicky Benge from Go Photo! to spend the day with us on Saturday 29 July from 9am to 5pm. Vicky has experience of working with people with disabilities and is a school photographer at various special schools in the region.  The day will be split into 30 minute pre-bookable time slots where our members are able to come and have a relaxed, private family photography session. These sessions are completely relaxed and there will be sensory toys, music and bubbles available as well as one of our play workers to help engage children and young people in the session.
