Responding to Children Affected by the Media Coverage of the Manchester Incident

Parents, teachers and others caring for children who are affected
by the media coverage of incidents like that in Manchester are
asking Winston's Wish how to respond to children's questions.

The Winston's Wish Charity has compiled some questions and
answers by drawing on experiences of supporting children,
young people and families bereaved through all causes,
including through murder or manslaughter.

Please see the list of contact details for organisations at the end
if you would like to ask other questions on how best to support
children affected by these events or by other bereavements.

CarillionAmey Set to Launch a New Website

Carillionamey will soon be launching a new website to provide a more streamlined and user-friendly experience. Their current website is cluttered and would like to give it a cleaner look. They also want to make it easier for customers to find the information they need.

However, this website re-launch means that any links or pages you may have bookmarked will no longer work. Once the website has gone live, you'll have to save any new links or bookmark the new pages that you need. A lot of the information we have on the current website has also been updated and some new sections have been added so you'll need to familiarise yourself with these changes as well.

They're committed to ensuring that their performance is continuously improving and want to make sure their website is tailored to customer's needs. They're aiming for the website to go live by the end of May but will have a confirmed go live date next week so keep an eye out for more details.

Injured Veterans Military Compensation

Following English, Welsh and Scottish Government announcements this year, injured veterans in England, Scotland and Wales will no longer have to surrender most of their military compensation to pay for their social care from 2017.

By contacting their MPs about this issue, our supporters were instrumental in persuading their Government to protect injured veterans’ compensation payments. Thank you to everyone who gave their support; the new changes really will make a huge difference to thousands of
injured veterans.

Royal Navy (HIVE) Welfare Information Support Teams

Welfare Information Support

The Welfare Information Support Team is the first port of call for the Service Personnel and their families and friends who are looking for the advice, support and resources they need to deal with the rigours of life in the Royal Navy. These demands go beyond those of civilian life, such as pressures that come with separation from family and friends, or the potential dangers of deployment, to name just two.

The resources delivered by the Welfare Information Support Team ensure that Service Personnel look our for, and after each other, and that they're more than the sum of their parts - and that they meet the Royal Navy objective to: "...provide accessible support services that strengthen and enhance the resilience and resourcefulness of Naval Service personnel, their families and communities."

Portsmouth (HMS Nelson): The Portsmouth Information Office, located within HMS Nelson, exists to provide bespoke information to the Service Community throughout Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.

Your Information Support Officers are: Lauren Halpin (Outreach Support) and Sara Joyce.
